Chapter One
An akward silence fell like night and as the silence
grew incredibly louder, He became more and more
uncomfortable. He got up from the chair which He had
been sitting in for the last three and half hours, walked
across the room to where she sat. He knew she was
upset and He needed to do or say something to calm
her but past experience had taught Him she was
unpredictably unstable. He finally made the four paces
which seemed to take awfully wrong to complete, came
upon her back and placed a hand lightly on her
shoulders expecting the worst reaction. She turned
slowly to His suprise and when His eyes met hers, He
couldnt believe what he saw. She was crying. "get out"
she said ever so softly it pierced his ears. "i dont ever
want to see or hear from you in my life" she sobbed.
"hey Gina, what happened to being friends?" she shook
her head "i dont know if I can be friends with a dog like
you" she said bitterly. "c'mon, dont call me such
names. I told you over a thousand times, it was always
you, you and no one else" he said, his growing
frustration visible "you chose not to believe. You chose
to always suspect, claiming I give you reasons to". He
paused, puling away from her. "but you do you lying
bastard" she retorted getting up angrily. Now sensing
he was going to get unreasonably angry and do or say
tthings He would regret, He turned around and made
for the door "yes walk away cos you dont care, you
never cared. You only wanted to use me and dump me.
God will punish you" she screamed. "whatever!" he
said angrily and walked away.
He just kept walking, both hands in pockets. He was
very angry and hurt. Two years, He thought to Himself,
two years of living in the prison of what He thought to
be "love". He had had enough. He couldnt understand
why Gina would always consider Him cheating. She
wouldsee Him talk with a friend and the next thing
she's throwing tantrums and calling Him names and all
the time He would try to explain but she would never
listen. They would end up making up when she began
to miss Him, leaving the issue of trust unsettled. Back
and forth, they never progressed together. They were
really good when all was well but when it was bad, it
was like Hitler and Amin at each others throat. A
DISASTER!. It was time he set them both free. He would
miss her alot, but it had to end. They may love each
other alot but they didnt have all it took to be together,
it had to end.
He decided to turn his thoughts to something else. It
was a week since school resumed, He had taken extra
time to prepare Himself. He would travel the next
morning. He was definitely going to see His buddie
Shola tommorrow. That was something t look forward
to. The strike had kept them apart for so long. He had
just had a bad day, but tommorow looked promising, it
was promising. He smiled to Himself and quickened His
pace...
