Once in a blue moon

For those that enjoy doing things once in a blue moon this rare
calendar phenomenon would occur on Friday. 'Once in a blue moon' is
not just an
idiom, but a rare statistical freak
which occurs when a full moon occurs
twice in a calendar month. This Friday, August 31, will be the
first 'blue moon' in a while (the last
one was in March 2010) and there will
not be another one again until July
2015.With a full moon occurring once every
29 days, and a month topping out with
a maximum of 31 days, the combination
is a rare one - occurring around once
every two-and-a-half years. Sadly, the image above is a
colour-filtered image and not what
we expect to see in the skies overhead
on Friday. If you only call your mother, have sex or have a
drink with people once in a
blue moon, prepare to clear your
schedule, cause Friday is actually a blue moon.

PASTOR NABBED WITH HUMAN SKUL

It was the end of the road for a pastor and another person in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as they were caught attempting to exhume a human skull in Sabo area of the state capital.

The suspects, Michael, 29, and Mathew, allegedly committed the act in the wee hours of Monday.

The Ogun State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ikemefuna Okoye ,who confirmed the incident said: "We got the information at about 12.00 hours that someone was digging a grave in the area and we quickly swung into action."

Okoye added: "The person never knew that the eagle eyes of the police were watching him in the process of removing the corpse.

"We apprehended him immediately he severed the head from the body and told us that it was one Pastor Oyewole that sent him."

The Police Commissioner, who said that Oyewole was subsequently arrested, added that the duo would be charged to court as soon as investigations into the matter were concluded.

While urging members of the public to continue to assist the police by giving useful information that could be used to track down criminals, Okoye said this was necessary for effective policing in the state.

He allayed the fears that the identity of such an informer would be disclosed by the police, stressing that it would be through such that crime and criminality in the state would be reduced.

The grave digger, Akiode, who confessed to the crime, attributed his involvement to the prevailing economic situation in the country.

Akiode said: "I used to work on his (pastor) site but he said I will make more money if I can get him human skull. So I felt it was an easy way of making money that was why I did it."

Speaking before Oyewole, who denied sending him, Akiode added: "I am surprised he's denying all of this when he was the actual person that taught me how to go about it."

Oyewole, who dismissed Akiode's allegations, said: "I am a man of God and pastor at Irewole Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Car Wash area, Abeokuta.

"I heal people with God's name and not with human skull. He is just telling lies and I don't know what I have done to him. Only God can save me now."

Prof. Barth Nnaji resigns as power minister

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati in a short press statement issued on Tuesday said “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has accepted the resignation with immediate effect of the Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji.

“President Jonathan thanks Prof. Nnaji for his services to the nation under the present administration and wishes him well in his future endeavours.”

Details of the circumstances surrounding the resignation of the Ministers were not available as at the time of publishing this report.

Since his appointment as the Minister of Power, Prof Nnaji, a graduate of physics at St John’s University had canvassed for major reforms in the Nigeria comatose power sector.

As part of his reforms programme, the Minister has embarked on a scheme to privatise Nigeria’s power generation plants as well as the country’s transmission company. This move have pitched Prof Nnaji against the electricity workers, who felt threatened that the private companies would sack them if they assume management of privatised companies.

Prof Nnaji is the director and a founder of the Automation and Robotics Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was made a professor of mechanical and industrial engineering in 1992.

He is also the founder of the first indigenous owned power generating company in Nigeria and was also a former minister for Science and Technology in the country.

He ran in the 2007 Nigerian presidential election as the candidate for the Better Nigeria Party.

Wahala Documentary : Scientology in Focus

Scientology is a body of beliefs and related practices created by L.
Ron Hubbard (1911–1986), starting in 1952, as a successor to his
earlier self-help system, Dianetics . Hubbard characterized
Scientology
as a religion , and in 1953 incorporated the Church of Scientology in
Camden, New Jersey . Scientology teaches that people are immortal
beings who have forgotten their true nature. Its method of spiritual
rehabilitation is a type of counselling known as auditing , in which
practitioners aim to
consciously re-experience painful
or traumatic events in their past in
order to free themselves of their limiting effects. The Church of
Scientology is one of
the most controversial new religious movements to have arisen in the
20th century. It has often
been described as a cult that financially defrauds and abuses its
members, charging exorbitant fees for its spiritual services.
Further controversy has focused on Scientology's belief that
souls ("thetans") reincarnate and have lived on other planets before
living on Earth, and that some of the related teachings are not
revealed to practitioners until
they have paid thousands of dollars to the Church of Scientology.
Another controversial belief held by Scientologists is that the
practice of psychiatry is destructive and abusive and must be
abolished. Scientology is also described as the religion of Hollywood.
John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, Lisa Marie Presley, Nancy Cartwright,
Jason Lee , Isaac Hayes, Edgar Winter, Tom Cruise, Chick Corea and
Leah Remini are celebrities who are scientologist.

Former
U.S. astronaut, Neil Armstrong, the
first man on the moon, has died at the
age of 82, NBC reported on Saturday. Armstrong underwent a heart-bypass
surgery earlier this month, just two
days after his birthday on August 5, to
relieve blocked coronary arteries. As commander of the Apollo 11
mission, Armstrong became the first
human to set foot on the moon on July
20, 1969. As he stepped on the moon's
dusty surface, Armstrong said: "That's
one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." The Apollo 11
moon mission turned
out to be Armstrong's last space
flight. The following year he was
appointed to a desk job, being named
NASA's deputy associate
administrator for aeronautics in the office of advanced research and
technology. He left NASA a year later to become
a professor of engineering at the
University of Cincinnati. The former astronaut lived in the

Apple wins $1billion in patent suit against Samsung

The world is turning into something else. The copyright/patent fight
between the smartphones giant American Apple and South Korea Samsung
has come to an end with the American company taking the loot home,
claiming that Samsung copied critical features of the iPad and
iPhone. A U.S jury passed the judgement and awarded Apple a whooping
sum of $1.051 billion in damages. This ruling could lead to
an outright ban on sales of key
Samsung products and will likely solidify
Apple's dominance of the exploding
smartphone and tablet market. This is where the news gets
interesting, earlier on Friday, a South Korean court
found that both companies shared
blame, ordering Samsung to stop selling
10 products including its Galaxy S II
phone and banning Apple from selling
four different products, including its iPhone 4, this was the ruling
on Samsung home soil. Then we go to Apple's home soil we all see the
outcome (PARTIALITY). The fight began last year when Apple sued
Samsung in different countries still on the copyright and patent
issues. For those who don't know Samsung produces about 80% of
microprocessors and other parts central to Apple device.

What happens in Vegas ... doesn't stay in Vegas.

It is a
marketing ploy, people. Really. Oh sure, you've seen the commercials,
the ones that say anything goes here.
Even the straight-laced are seen
smoking cheap cigars and playing slots
before they've left the airport. But Prince Harry is not alone.
Everyone is fair game, especially when
cameras are standard equipment on
smartphones and Facebook is just a
click away. Note these examples: — After a September 2010 concert at
the Hard Rock's Wasted Space
nightclub, a bathroom attendant
noticed Bruno Mars was taking a long
time in a stall — accompanied by a
little bag of white powder. A security guard confronted him as he left, and
Mars ended up getting probation and
community service for a cocaine
charge — all as his song "Just the Way
You Are" climbed the Billboard
charts. — In 2010, a police officer stopped
the car Paris Hilton was riding in after
noticing a "vapor trail" of marijuana
smoke wafting from the windows.
Once inside the Wynn resort on the
Strip, Hilton reached in her Chanel purse for lip balm but ended up
dropping a small bag of cocaine —
right in front of the officer. She told
authorities it wasn't hers and she
thought it was gum. — A group of General Services
Administration employees got some
unwelcome fame when the goofy skits
they prepared for a lavish conference
in October 2010 ended up on
YouTube. A congressional panel wasn't as amused by one employee's ditty
about never getting audited by the
inspector general. Heads rolled when
word got out that the $820,000
event included a taxpayer funded
clown, mind-reader, and 24 unassembled bicycles for a team-
building exercise. — Britney Spears walked down the
aisle in jeans and a baseball cap in
2004. The pop princess ended up
waking up in Vegas next to her
childhood friend and decided she
should trim that whole "till death do us part" thing to 55 hours of wedded
bliss. — And, last, but not least, Prince
Harry, the third in line to the British
throne, played a game of strip
billiards, only to find that someone
leaked blurry photos of the naked
royal cozied up to an apparently undressed mystery woman. Prince
Harry's office confirmed Wednesday
that the photos were of the prince,
but declined to make any further
comment. Source : yahoo

How suspects killed beautiful Cynthia Osokogu

Echezona Nwabufor, 33, and Ezekiel
Nnechukwu Olisa Eloka, 23, the two suspects
held in connection to the brutal murder of Miss
Cynthia Osokogu Udoka, 25, were paraded
today by the Lagos State Police Command,
Ikeja. The suspects who are students, narrated how they drugged and
strangled their
unsuspecting victm in a bid to steal her money. One of the suspects,
Eloka, said they killed
Cynthia because they thought she had a lot of
money in her possession. But after the
dastardly act, they did not find a reasonable
amount of money on her. According to the
suspects, "we met her on facebook on our Blackberry. We invited her to
come to Lagos to
buy goods at cheap prices. "When she got to Lagos, we took her to a hotel
in Festac. We thought she had a lot of money,
but she said she didn't have any money. We
gave her Reflon tablet in her Ribena drink.
After this, we slept with her for 12 hours in
that hotel. We discovered that the tablet did not work quickly on her.
Cynthia Osokogu "We then attacked her, tied her up and used
cello-tape to cover her mouth. After that, we
beat her to tell us where she kept the money.
When we didn't get any money from her, we
tied her mouth and strangled her and then we
abandoned her in the hotel and fled." Briefing journalists on how policemen were
able to trace and arrest the suspects, Lagos
State Commissioner of Police, Umar Abubakar
Manko, said detectives made use of the close
circuit television, CCTV, at the hotel where
the crime was committed to identify them. The Area Commander, Area 'E' Police
Command, ACP Okoro added that the suspects
who are undergraduates of Nigerian
universities were nabbed through the call logs
of the telephone conversations they had with
the late Cynthia who was a post graduate student of Nasarawa State
University. ACP Okoro further stated that many ATM
cards, about 23 SIM cards and different
identity cards were recovered from the
suspects. Police sources said the two suspects will soon be
charged to court on murder charges. What a wicked world we live in and how much
more heartless can man be? This is indeed a
very sad and unfortunate incidence that could
have happened to anyone; the case deserves an
accelerated trial so the soul of beautiful Miss
Cynthia can rest in perfect peace.

Multiple tragedies hit Kenya

Hundreds
of farmers attacked a village, killing at
least 48 people in south eastern Kenya

Mariah Carey vexed cause she'd be sitting alongside Nicki

Nick Cannon's wife / American singer Mariah Carey is really upset
about sitting alongside Trinidadian-born American rapper,
singer, songwriter, and voice actress Nicki Minaj on the judges' table
of the American Idol. Heard she hung the phone as she was told that
Nicki might be sitting with her. I see reasons with Carey, Nicki is
much younger like 13years and she was told earlier by the American
Idol executive that she would be the only female as a judge on the
show.

You can Send Real Beer and Cake to Your Facebook Friends With an App

An app on facebook called Treater can actually let one virtually send

You can buy your friends cups of

can be instantaneously redeemed with
a smartphone grows to include games
of bowling, movie tickets and spa
treatments. I don't really think this is applicable in Nigeria our country.

Wahala Articles : D author.....Checkmate

Chapter Two
Shola sat in his self contain apartment,
thinking to himself, the last few days
had been eventful. He had been
involved for the first time in the acting
of a play. Other times he had either done costuming or something of that
nature. The rehearsals had been
excellent - for him at least - the other
boy who auditioned for the role with
him had vanished beneath his superb
performances. Everyone loved his act, his carriage, his authority, his command
of speech and presence on stage. He
was something special, like "God sent"
the director had quipped.
He smiled to himself "i've won the role"
he thought. He was snatched away from his self-appraisal by loud knocking
on the door. That must be Ola, he said
to himself, he got up hastily, belting up
and running his hands through his hair
as if to comb it "i'm coming" he said. He
rushed to the door, pulled the curtain aside and was somewhat not
disppointed. It was not Ola!. "guy abeg
you get sugar? I need soak garri now
abeg!" it was his boisterous and
irritating neighbour Nath. Shola smiled
suprising even himself by his reaction. "yes, sure" he said turning to get the
sugar. He heard the net door which was
made to keep out mosquitoes close
behind him and the sound of two feet
following him. Cant this dude just wait
outside he thought to himself shaking his head. "men, your room gallant o!"
Nath said looking round " e bee like say
the long vac favor you wella" he added
offering himself a seat and picking up
the remote control to the sound
system. "ah!. Your maga dey pay well". He said expecting a response from
Shola. Shola offered no more than a
short hearty laugh. He was not in the
mood for loud talking and the only way
he could escape that now was by
avoiding to engage in this conversation. If he replied, Nath would have more to
say and soon he'd ask for garri, a plate,
spoon, water. He'll make himself
comfortable, eat and talk on top of his
voice not to mention he would never
leave, not even after Ola would long be gone. Yes, Ola, he thought, she should
be here now, but she wasnt. Normally,
he'd have been worried, but it startled
him how calm he was, he didnt care less.
It was not neccessary.
"here you go man" he said handing six cubes of sugar to Nath who recieved
them with appreciative hands. "omo
guy you too much. You gallant, i dey
believe you. Based on who you be, abeg
you fit make am 10 cubes?" he said
smiling and raising his eyebrows to shola. Shaking his head, shola smiled
and said "ok". He walked across the room
to his three tier storage tray, picked
the whole packet of sugar and handed
it to Nath. "I'm in a giving mood. Take
and dont ask me questins just go or I fit change my mind" Shola said giving Nath
a wry smile and winking, his motive to
get rid of Nath who quickly snatched
the box, got up quiclky and without
uttering a word exited the apartment
for fear of losing the "miracle". Now, where were we? Shola thought to
himself, just then, his phone rang
breaking his thoughts again. He walked
to the bed, raised the pillow and picked
up the phone. Text message, opening it,
he smiled. "He's back" he said aloud as if talking to some imaginary mutual
friend. "who is?" Ola's voice came from
the door, a sound which no longer
excited him. Shola turned and looked at
her, the woman he loved, she wasnt
much of a woman to him anymore. Smiling and pointing to a photo on the
wall, he said "you know who. Him!".
